Family Tree I must step in and start a intervention-dude you are a compulsive spender. So am I,but the first step is admitting you have a problem.

i know what they have, ive used it before, i forgot it was only one size. and yes, i have a gear issue, you know what, that felt good to say, finally, its out there.

YOU HEAR ME WORLD, I HAVE A DRINKING AND GEAR PROBLEM!!!!!!!

thanks man, that felt good to say, finally, the first step. now, if i keep buying more gear then i wont have money for the drinking problem.

problem/solution, thats how i roll

LOL. Thought the first step had something to do with unmanageability.

Works just fine with Tachyon and KMIII.

If anyone's working with climbing on Tech Cord, I want to know. Is 5mm what you're talking about, "small diameter"?

Rocks are hard.
Water is wet.
Fire is hot.
Gravity sucks.

What do you mean by this Jim? I have started to use tech cord for my hitch cord? Been using it over the last 6 months, mixing diff knots and rope brands. I've settled on 3 diff knots and only one rope that seems to work smoothly.

I would also like to know the diameter. I have been wanting to climb on something smaller, just do not know which way to go. I know my good friend hollen would be happy to advise me.

I think there is to different "Tech Cords".All Gear makes a 2 different sizes it comes in Red and maybe other colors and is a hollow braid also spliceble. Its used for a prussik hitch or whatever,i think its 8mm and 10mm.The cord Jim is referring to was sold by sherril and is a technora cord with a outer jacket(look at his lanyard hitch). Its really small(5mm) and would probably not work well as a friction hitch on a climbing line-but works great on a lanyard

Also there is several other Technora blends.Even one I used a few years ago that sherril sales as a footlocking prussik. Its not spliceble but I think its called tech cord aswell. It can be used for a friction hitch and is 8mm .

Funny... I posted something very similar in the "Finally" thread.

New England Ropes "Tech Cord"

5mm dia. 6000 lb.

Just jacking my jaws. I know it has military applications, but haven't found techniques for use as climbing line.

Its great for my tender on my lanyard. I think it would be a little crazy for working prussik.

Where are ya, Jeremy?

Not really suitable for a climbing line then, not offically anyways...
