Two way Radio of Choice

How many of y'all use two way radios on the job site and what is your preferred radio?

We've used the talkabouts but have pretty much relegated them to the dumpster. They don't last, they can't handle the noise and their fidelity sucks.

I'd like to get some new ones and was wondering what you think is the cat's meow in this regards.

I've been using Peltor PowerCom Plus for over 2 years. I have only used them for crane assisted tree removals. I counted the amount of trees removed in a 2 year period and I did 136.

So, I can't say how many hours on them, but I just had to send them in.

I noticed some issues with the VOX on really cold days when the moisture from my breath was freezing on the mic. Just a couple of weeks ago the VOX was not working. The computer was audibly saying a numerical code. I called customer service and asked if they could run me through the issue. The code that came up required me to send in my head set. Again...

I'll see what is wrong soon.

When I get it back, I'll store them in the home. I used to keep them in the cab of the truck for convience. But, that may not be a good idea with he temperature extremes in the cab of a truck.

I have both. My peltors had issues. Im glad they can be rebuilt ill check into that on monday.

I have the earmark and the sound and voice activation is much better. They are a little heavier but I think worth it. I actually just broke the helmet mount piece switching hardhats so Ill have to try to get another.

I got my Peltor back and they said they no longer have the parts for the model I have.

I'm not impressed. They are an international company and they don't have parts for my head set?

I'll see if a radio repair place can fix it before I buy new Earmark's.

Classic,

You won't be disappointed. Our set was just factory serviced a few weeks ago and works like new. Batteries I believe. Good service.
