Triple lock requirement & lanyards

I don't know if this has been answered here or not. I tried to search but hey I'm new here. Anyway, how do the rope snaps commonly found on work positioning lanyards comply with the triple lock requirement for life support? This never occured to me before now - I wanna make my own long rope lanyard.

I don't know of any triple locking life support attachments for tree climbers. The Petzl AM'D carabiner for example is a tri-act double auto locker.

Chewbacca- Locking snaps tend to be double action, single lock. Many climbers are replacing these with triple action, double locking biners . I know Jason D. in Chicago is doing this, and he says he's getting as quick with the biner as the snap (ball-lock, I think). It's not a bad idea, seeing how new climbing techniques treat lanyards as secondary climbing lines, not just a buck strap.

Sometimes I like using the Mickey Mouse pulley as a slack tender under my friction hitch with my lanyard. This allows me to have only one attachment at my D when I am using it as a small climbing line. I have never really liked the way my Red ISC snap fit into the hole of the Mickey Mouse pulley so I think I will switch over to a tri-locking biner.
As much as I love the snap, I do have to agree that it comes open way to easily, ESPECIALY if Im using it soley as a life line.

I suppose I mis-spoke then. The petzl AM'D type carabiners are what I was referring to. I guess I should've said triple action not triple lock, but still the discrepancy between triple action carabiners and double action rope snaps remains.

I made the switch from a double action locking snap to a triple action lock about 6 months ago.

It was an extremely easy transfer and reccommend it to anyone that asks. I am currently using a dmm oval but was using a ball lock for a while. It's easier then you think and becomes second nature after a week.

How do you like that biner anyway? Is it easier to open than the petzl oval?

Dmm equals quality. I love this biner and bought a second one to replace my petzl o.k. After only two days of using it. It has a smoother action than the petzl and it really makes my eye color stand out

That's the important thing

. I like the other dmm biner I have, ill have to give em a try.

I'm getting around to changing over to a biner. I just can't bring myself to cut a good snap off my lanyard. I've started to climb more and more with my lanyard for a second mini climbing line.
