TreeStuff Party

Thanks Chiselbit, the TreeStuff party was a huge success. Companies and climbers from all over the area showed up and braved the weather. We had guys and gals from BrightView, Pacific Crest Arborist, Leaf it to Me Inc., Tree Safe, Acton Arborculture, Jamison Timberfallers, some folks from Pollock Pines and Oroville! The event was held at 5,000ft elevation, in February, so we all knew what we were getting into! Tree Stuff supplied a bunch of cool gear including Rope Runner, Zig Zags, various tree climbing harnesses to try out... as well as a ton of rope! Tree Stuff treated us to some hot coffee and great food, but most importantly got the community together!

It was amazing. Hosted by Chad Brey there are too many good things to say about it and too many people to thank for their contributions for me to really do it justice. Chad spent the day bringing his excellent teaching/instructing skills to bear in sharing tons of info even though I don't think he really planned to do that. A -1 Tree Service provided food for a great lunch, and the event happened on a great property that the owners generously let be used for the occasion.

TreeStuff sent along a huge duffle of gear to be handled and used. I was particularly interested in handling the new wide bridge ring, the Ariel Friction Brake, and trying out the MCRSaddle. Ohh, and the Sterling Rigging Sling, as well as getting to personally handle some of the tRex cordage in the form of a sling.

Lots of information was shared amongst the participants and I can only see repeat attendance at future TS Parties as being an extremely positive thing for participants and the industry as a whole.

Anyone interested in attending TS Parties, I think the best way to be informed about them at the present is through the TS Facebook page. I asked my wife to sign up for that and keep me informed in the future.

Will someone please do a Treestuff climbing party anywhere in Contra Costa County California?! So many awesome trees to climb and lots of interest. Thank you!
