TreeStuff and SherrillTree Join Forces

If there are folks out there who can't make it and have constructive input or questions let one of us know and we can address those at the meeting. I am willing to be the scribe and take notes to repost a summary here.
Ok.
Why are they still promoting Lead Pb in the industry/work place.
Why are they refusing to accept innovation when it is clearly a substantial improvement?
Why do they steal others ideas and give zero credit to the founder?
What really happened with the TreeStuff take over?
Why the lies, cheating and dishonesty?
I respect Luke and his decision but on the other hand to sell out to ST just seems so wrong.
What's even worse now is Tripp trying to buy more individuals to add to the ST minions

I hope that isn't a 'minimum advertised price' type contract thing. If so I'm not impressed. America I don't think has laws against this. Pretzel (<- funny autocorrect) seems big on this sort of thing and seems to tell the retailer when you can have your 15% off sale.

I'm just curious. I wonder, if the price is still high when your signed in? I wonder if the sale price can be lower when you're signed in. Like a shop could interact with you face to face and say the sell price is lower. What does the retailers contract might say? I wonder who imports DMM? Is ST + TS big enough to have some influence? I super curious now.

Transparency for the customer would be nice here. It would be be nice if someone in the know could explain. Just a little press release or note on a website to make notice of the price change.

I like the DMM products I have, they work great, but this is going to suck cause I can see the price down under going up even more. Grrrr, makes climbing more expensive for no appreciative value gain. 54 to 72 is a big price increase.
I hate MAP pricing. MSRP, ok, but MAP is too close to price fixing and not in the interest of the consumer/climber.

I met Tripp at Jambo and it was a pleasure to speak with him for a while. He took the time to come over and introduce himself and chat, that is pretty impressive.
I look forward to getting with many of you at this event and talking about many of these issues. It may take some exposure but I think Tripp will see the value in prioritizing/balancing the customer vs. the share holder in this community.
Tree climbers/workers are a different breed of consumer and it sounds like he is making a real effort to understand that.

Thanks Richard. I saw you on the LIVE feed! Thanks for what you did to help out at Jambo. I am interested in what you thought of the Rope Runner 2, but that's for another thread. I am glad you got to talk to Tripp, he seems like a really good guy. I am sorry I wont be able to make it to the rendezvous to meet them all in person, but I am glad you will be going to represent.

Agreed. I haven't come across anything good for the consumer in MAP. MSRP, no problem.

I do think MAP can be an advantage for those who don't apply it. A way to connect with the customer and their favoured retailers.

My thought is this. It would be good if online retailers under a MAP could advertise a sell price once you've logged on to their site. Guests or those buying without login would see MAP indicated by the price.

Just sharing my thoughts.

Cut and paste from a FB post.

Enjoyed a climb with it, performance is really about the same, the big thing is that it is impossible to drop parts. It will probably have some markings for the rope routing when done, as the way it opens, makes it easy to miss a friction point on the body leaving it with 2/3's of the friction points. Also my observation, in an attempt to make no droppable parts, some bulkiness is added around the pins that make them more difficult to operate and maybe more easily missed if not in the proper position.
I think there will be a spike in the error of not getting the pins set correctly, probably not catastrophic but something RE should anticipate.

Oh thanks, and interesting review. I hadn't thought about the added bulk making things less visible for inspection as you climb. Very good. Thanks. Probably shouldn't hijack this thread anymore, but I was really interested in what you had to say.

So can you tell me more so I can ask questions with some sort of insight. Maybe message me if you want.

So got my air fare info from Mary today, looks like I'm flying into Washington then boarding a smaller plane, hope it's bigger then a Cessna 172 to Greensboro! Anyone else flying into Washington and getting on the connecting flight?
I get to leave at 5:55am and go Fredericton to Montreal to Newark to Greensboro. I'm pumped! :birra:

I got mine as well. I need to respond yet. I'm actually still in shock that this is happening. I'm a very small fish. I've bought almost 5 grand in personal gear in the last two years and around 10 through the company I work for; but that ain't squat compared to Steve it seems. I checked the flight schedule and I seem to have a lot of time between flights. I understand scheduling, but to leave me to my own devices for more than ten minutes could be a bad thing.
One question. Whose tab are we on when we go out at night? Not that it really matters. I drank for hours in Pittsburg with Goods guys and zee German bought all night. We actually didn't know if he knew he was buying so we all chucked a twenty his way.
If Tripp is buying be prepared to see a price increase guys
