TreeStuff and SherrillTree Join Forces

First and foremost, all the best to you and the family. It has been a pleasure working with such a great team and a quality supplier.

Now the part we all hope for is that Treestuff stays Treestuff and doesn't morph into SherrillStuff. For us this could be life as normal, or next year could be the best year Wesspur has seen ever.

Not a chance, Sherrill is predatory and will destroy Treestuff. Goodbye service, selection, customer satisfaction. Say hello to corporate greed.

Ditto. I boycott sherill as well. I ordered from WesSpur for years until I found you guys. I hope the core being of treestuff remains the same!! Many of us were with you because sherill lacked what you've built. Best of luck and I'm anxious to see what will be the future.

Mrtree, do you know anyone currently working at SherrillTree? I doubt it by your reaction.

I am amazed at how quickly people are jumping to criticize sherrill in this move. Consider that in so doing you are also criticizing Luke, who made the decision to sell.

Luke and Erin,

From the beginning TreeStuff.com was amazing. You created a truly remarkable business which always had more at its heart than mere sales. Your genuine endeavor to serve and fulfill the needs of your customers and your attention to the smallest details assured your unparalleled place at the top. I am sure this decision was made with the same care you put into all of your work, and that tells me that you trust the hands you are placing your company in. If you believe this is best...I'm with you. In fact, your decision to do what is best for your family says a lot about the two of you. Family is alway first. Always. Congratulations. ...and thanks for everything!

SHERRILLtree,

Take good care of them, you made the deal of a lifetime. You are extremely lucky to have acquired TreeStuff and I am eager to see this relationship grow.

Don't need to know anybody now. Stopped with Sherrill twenty years ago or so, Tobe Sherrill still has never made good for his lies.

Was it not a few months ago that TreeStuff mounted a campaign on here to attack Sherrill?

Remember there is no loyalty to a company that has been sold. We know that Sherrill will find anyway to extract more profit at the cost of the customer.

Luke has made a business decision and his customers will make their own decisions with regards to retailers.

I am not criticizing either side on their business decision, hell I think it's bloody genius. But for example here is my latest Sherrill experience.....

They email me a survey to help them get better. I open the survey and anwer question 1, move to question 2, answer question 2 which was a lie because question 1 made question 2 unanswerable, move to question 3, start to answer question 3 (several parts), half way through question 3 the survey locks up in a circle of death.

I closed the page and went back to my email, sent them a reply politically stating that trying to take their survey left me with the same sour taste as always. Really wtf, I know they probably didn't code the survey for mobile devices but if your name is on it, you own it.

Although family comes first, I feel we've all accepted Luke, Nick, Carson, Justin, Josh, and the list continues, into our family and friends circle. It's a deeply depressing moment to think that we won't have the same service and comradely, amongst us all. This will definitely put a kink in my gear buying attitude, if this is true. I've not found a better group of people that I'd like to spend my hard earned money with than TS.com, as well as, have my purchases within 24-26 hours of time of order. Say it isn't so! I've tried Sherriltree several times and haven't had any memorable experiences, and Wesspur is 2300 miles away, so shipping will be a huge downfall. But, whatever happens, was obviously meant to be. I never had heard of a company called TreeStuff.com until meeting Luke and Erin at their mini booth at their first TCIA Expo (Baltimore?).
Friendly, genuine, sincere, folks who weren't even selling anything there, just handing out Treestuff shirts and stickers.
So I became a customer. Naturally. They were/are the real deal, and the kind of people you want to do business with. And it has been an enjoyable journey.
Wishing the best for both of you, Luke and Erin, and the rest of the TreeStuff crew.

I thought this was July 1 not Apr 1.

Seriously though, anyone who has had the opportunity to stop at 6565 Coffman Rd and see what Luke's day is like will appreciate why he has chosen this. He is young and has a young family and the fact is, you don't get those years back. We all love the service TS has given us and I certainly hope that will continue along with the awesome innovations that have come about in the industry because of the work that Luke and his staff have done. I'm not sure what changes Sherrill will make and there are bound to be changes, but I hope that the TreeStuff.com that we know and love will continue service us as it always has, with honesty and integrity. I will be by the next time I am in Champaign IL.

It's the way business has been running for years now. A startup gets hot and the big boys buy them out. It's the goal of many startups to have that happen. Not saying that was was Luke's goal but this is the typical pattern. It will take a couple years to see how it will all pan out. It's an opportunity for a new tree gear startup to shake things up all over again, if anyone has the stomach for it ;-)

Great stuff, now with stories. I'm still using the same spec gloves, the same climbing rope (although I bought a new one to replace it after it got crossed up in an angry rigging line. Now I've got a 50', 150', and 200' lines, lol), and the same groundskeeper rake whose rigid tines have saved me substantial time and energy. The blood stopper has exited the pouch for my gladiator pants side pocket and has not been used. The Ocean cord spec is still running on my line with a rope wrench. The sterling RIT didn't work out as well as the Ocean, except it did in a different way - it sits at the base of a pine, attached to a caribiner which is attached to an eye throughbolt you sent me. It holds an old rock climbing line that runs up the pine 40' to a small pulley on another eye throughbolt, then across 70' of open space to hold up one corner of a blue tarp that shades an ER doctor's mobile home porch on five acres of planted pines. When the tarp sags, he leverages his hitch climber caribiner to pull the rope tight and capture progress. He's tickled by the process more than he could ever appreciate a pole barn over the porch, which would have cost the same...

You've obviously made some great choices in life. If you continue to do what's best for you, it will likely make you happy, and we'll be happier because of that. Keep on it. I continue to wish you the best of success.
