Had to dig not claiming to have known, but how about Torreya taxifolia?
Just saw this. The thread has been buried for a while. I have posted Torreya before. We have the largest remaining living individual on earth here on a private property. It is not Torreya. And yes, unfortunately I am in the extreme heat and humidity of the south east US. Your last guess was close in name but Taxus doesn't like the heat.

I was seeing those other oak branches too!
My first impulse before I tried to zoom in and got thrown off by the wrong branches was Ulmus pumila, so I'll go back to that.
