Had a look at this poor old guy today...

Unfortunately it was 30-some years too late. Ganoderma, some crust fungi I'm still figuring out, and a litany of different sized and shaped borer holes.

3' to 4' grade change for the house, altered hydrology pattern, severed and compacted roots, water pooling, etc etc
