Anyone ever climb one of these?
There is another one here in town that dwarfs this one. It is so encrusted with barnicle like thorns that I would think it to be unclimbable because it would snag rope, straps, false crotches .Ill try and take a picture of it. I was asked to remove a huge hanger from this beast but the owner didnt want to foot the bill for both crane and manlift(bucket truck)

that is very simular to the Bombax with the thorns, some can be rubbed off - they are bother and can prohibit your climb on some trees.

the ones we climb, bombax in the florida region, the thorns are not visible for the most part on the old growth sections of the tree, more in the upper and outer limbs Ceiba speciosa var. 'Majestic Beauty'
