I agree it looks like Taxus,... cuspidata is grown on the East Coast...
but it looks more like a T. canadensis floridana

robinia's got it, tough a$$ trees. This one was here long before the office and apartment development that were built about 40 years ago around it. It has been growing in a strip about 5 ft wide between to retaining walls separating the street and a parking lot for most of that time, pretty impressive I thought.
