Nope on Prunus serotina.

Hmmm, Here is a more recent picture of the tree, which is set to be removed next week.

The tree is Ulmus americana. Not Jefferson Elm. This tree is located in MA. The person it is named after Surname is a variation of a word meaning "place of the Elms".

This tree was just pruned by Save-a-Tree. They did a nice job.

Beech.

I didn't end up back on the property i mentioned. It was a probably 35'tall x 50'wide ironwood. With a 24"+ stem. I climbed it for dead and crossers. Simply incredible tree.

Was a large transplant from Boston area back in the 70's. Hand dug ball and laced, crane, etc out here to Wmass.

Nope. These buds are very swollen, as in they were opening that day on other parts of the tree. The ones in the picture were probably open by the following day.

This is a big, native tree, although in my parts, it's rare to see a large one in the forest. Mostly they are more in the understory. I've never seen one planted in the landscape here, except for this arboretum, and I saw an absolute monster specimen in front of an old, old house in Collingswood, NJ.

Come on arbos!!!
