Trees from a distance

Aralia elata

Yeah buddy.

Japanese Angelica.

Striking tree I think. Only one I've ever seen.

Why isn't it in landscapes?

Looks very healthy and is outside, in PA, so it must do fine in my zone.

I haven't looked it up, but I imagine the regular specie is not varigated. But this varigated looks plenty healthy and is quite showy. The compound leaves seem.... kinda trashy to me somehow, maybe like ailanthus or something, but it's still pretty cool.

I'm thinking about researching to get one.

So many trees to get, 5 acres of land isn't enough I think, dang it!

Your up Robinia. Someday the prince might overtake the king.

ahh, I knew that compound leaved Aralia seemed familar.

Our Aralia spinosa, commonly known as Devil's Walkingstick is an Aralia.

I tried to find a supplier for the last 15 minutes on the net.

I read they are hard to find and the plant is expensive when you do find it.

the variegated one is hard to propegate, grafts are needed.

cool, I want it more now.

just a crape myrtle?

Good guess, but a Crape Myrtle would never thrive or become a full sized tree up here. This tree looks almost identical, though.
