This thread is all about ID'ing trees from a distance. Which means you shouldn't be able to see them well.

FWIW: I'm almost convinced this is actually Ulmus glabra. When I took these photos I didn't know I was looking at a champion and instinctively ID'ed it U. glabra. Now I wish I had taken a better look, especially the fruit. To me the form, size, and even bark looks closer to glabra then rubra, but the HROT people are typically pretty good with verification.
Whatever, just my 2 cents. Feel free to throw in your opinion.

it was a good clue. but the shape was really elm it was just a matter of which one. when you say your up am i supposed to send in a picture? i will start looking for one. you have some good pictures. thanks
 
okay guys, this picture is not too far and of course there not as good as yours, i do more diagnosing,preservation, soil amendment type of stuff, i have a couple guys i work with that actually do the climbing, but i am going to give this a try. good luck

good guess but no---clue #1 zone 5 glossy really green leaves and the squirrels go crazy for it! i know you do not need to be a climber but to get good air shots you do. thanks for the positive feedback. try try again you can do it!
