Trees from a distance

I couldn't help myself. Did a virtual tree tour of RI, saw some nice trees. The best I could come up with was the Fraxinus Quadrangulata, blue ash. It's range comes close but doesn't seem to include RI. I guess that would make it rare.

Okay, no one's got it yet. It's NOT a compound leaf. Older bark gets a flaky outer layer, with a very slight reddish hue on the trunk. This tree also has smaller cousins that are more common around here.

I got that negundo a couple trees back, and didn't know the rules. So I'd like to screw up the program and post this tree now. I think it could be fun, and show an interesting local, native, tree(Saskatchewan). Willbranch, you definately earned that last one, I've never heard of a halesia, so post your tree if you have one and enjoy my pic.

Seriously no one knows. It's a mystery. Must be genetics. But the university started cuttings and they grew straight. It's just a one acre site in a pasture and it draws bus tours to what they call the crooked bush. Apparently cows wouldn't graze in the trees. Cool eh.
