Trees from a distance

trunk looks like crab apple, but without any water sprouts.

the healed over areas on the trunk and branching down low seems like crab. So I've say crabapple.

but i doubt it, but nothing else comes to mind.

or, a far out one for some reason came to mind, serviceberry?
 
Not a Malus nor an Amelanchier. That would be a cool Amelanchier, though! Did you zoom on the attachment? I thought there were a couple giveaways once it was enlarged.

thats my dad and my little brother there guy. but bald cypress is wrong. and i'm sure that your kid is much cuter than my little brother. :P
 
Last guess...

Blue Atlas cedar? I see the other one in the background, maybe this one is really chlorotic or something.

Edit - On second look, the one in the back is a lebanon, so scratch that whole guess. I'm backin' EZ with Ginkgo!
