It is staring right at you.

That's easy for you to say!

Okay, Tom.
Let's say this cluster of trees in the middle is dead.
Therefore, the little seedling in front is possibly a pine or hemlock ??
Everything is getting fuzzy now...

It's not dead, but it's not exactly the picture of health either.

The seedlings are White Pine, and totally unrelated to this deciduous angiosperm.

JZ, it's not a tulip, either.

Well I would jump around and say stuff like, "I totally smoked you on that one." and "It's a Sycamore Dude!", but it hasn't really been working out.

The internodes are kinda short on that one.

YOU GOT IT, TN!

The 'staring right at you' clue is the big stain on the trunk, right in the middle of the pic. If you were able to magnify closer, you'd see alot more smaller necrotic 'stains.' Chestnut blight causes necrosis that starts at branch unions and at the base of the tree. I will post another pic of this later.

NICE JOB!

Cool. I don't want to hold up the game. I Still have no pics ready. If someone wants to jump in cool. Otherwise I will get some pics today between raindrops. Thank God for a typical Tennessee spring weather pattern.

Beatiful bloom and leaf out this year I"ll have some great pics soon.

Me too. According to HR, Blinky has a turn, so maybe he'll put one up. Enjoy the weather! We're having rain on and off all week, but the glass being half full, all of the 250 trees we planted this Spring are being watered!
