Treemotion Suspender Idea

So Ive been hearing that the treemotion suspenders are pretty much useless, so I have been finageling with a petzl voltage chest harness. Spent most of the past work week in the trees with either a 201 or a 036 and they worked/held up better than I expected. The rear upper attachment is very similar to the bucket fall arrest harnesses and the rear lower attachment is some webbing from an old book bag. The front attachments is sterling accessory cord and two quick links attached to the red D's.

If you can reduce fatigue in climbing, I'm all for it. I've just tried my tree motion for a day. It's good but I'm concerned of the low anchor and long rope bridge. Considering an extra figure eight in the bridge outside the hardware. I'm small for the one size fits most theory. It's light and I'm still used to my other hard seat. Interesting idea here though as I always thought a chest thing was to awkward. But you have it rigged independently it looks like. Maybe onto something

I was also concerned that I will lose range of motion with suspenders but I am able to move just as freely with these as I was without them. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

You can also use suspenders from a construction belt found at home depot and that will hold your harness very well.

I found a MN Black Label tool belt suspenders at Menards the other day, on sale for $22 that I thought looked better made than some of the ones I've bought for tree saddles, so on a whim, I bought it. Turns out, it works perfectly on my Buckingham (Master Deluxe) saddle. I also had to use a couple of quick links for the front connections, but the rear ones hooked right on. Has a cross-strap on the chest that works good for tending the SAKA and a pouch on one strap for a cell phone. My flip phone fits perfectly (I have a tablet PC for web surfing and job management, I hate smart phones).

It's nice to see so many people on the Buzz that, like me, figure out that if what you need isn't available or costs more than you want to spend, chances are there's something that can be made to work that might work just as good or better. I get so many ideas off of this board, it's scary.

Loop of 1/8" dacron polyester rope and small Japanese style 'biner/clip on the cross-strap of suspenders... doesn't affect the quick connect buckle operation... for SAKA attachment or advancing the ascender/descender device.

Very cool Tyler. I have also been thinking about making quick connect buckles/straps to connect my treemotion to my swing chest harness, when need be. This is a good little push. That 372 on my hip kicks my ass sometimes.
