Treeflex Vs. Master deluxe

title says it, but I've been looking into getting a new harness and I have been drooling over the Treeflex but the difference is about 200 bucks and i just need to know if its worth the extra 200. I did look up the other treeflex threads and browse though thoughts, but they didn't give a comparison to the master deluxe.

I love the master deluxe and would definitely suggest it. But i've never tried the treeflex so i wouldn't be able to compare.

One of the guys at work as the deluxe and I’ve tried it on once or twice but with all the talk of ergonomics and the well thought out design of attachment points and the adjustability of it is really tempting. And the SRT compatability of it too. If i where to get the deluxe i would be adding a bridge to it shortly.

Adding a bridge to he master deluxe is easy. I've added it to mine and like it.

As for SRT i would think that the master would be compatible with that system. I've never climbed srt though

I've been reading mixed reviews all day. Some people love it other really don’t like it. Both saddles are SRT compatible and both have or can have bridges. I'm just really wondering if the ergonomics are worth the 200 bucks. I've looked over the saddle about 50 times picturing where my gear would go and how everything would be situated but it seem like it keep coming down to if the saddle is better for my back and the rest of my body compared to the master.

Are you someone who purchases a saddle as a long term investment? Or are you someone who is willing to buy a new saddle every year.?

The difference is critical between a climber who wants to make an investment in the 'best' saddle, and one who wants to buy a saddle which will perform for them over the long term (several years, minimum) AND have this saddle customizable to accept different bridges, and also different primary attachment points.

So what is it for you Jman?

Long term investment. That is why I started looking into the treeflex because i would plan on keeping it for a while. Buying a new saddle each year is not high on my list of thing to do. I am a little afraid of dropping 450 to realize I dislike it.

Then go and check out the TreeAustria.

As someone who buys and checks out alot of saddles, the durability of the TreeAustria just cant be beat.

Or the Buckingham saddles.

I have been climbing with the treeflex for several weeks now, and it is hands down the most comfortable saddle I have ever owned. I have climbed in both butterfly models, treemagic, and various buckingham models over the years.

There was some serious thought put into the design of this harness. I did a job a week or two ago installing a couple cables in a beech tree. The treeflex felt super comfortable and supportive just hanging there on my rope. Hanging for just a couple of minutes in the treemagic was torture.

you get what you pay for- its worth every penny.

The treemotion seem to delicate, the treeflex seem about on par with the masters but come to think about it I would have to put money on Buckingham saddle to longevity. How durable is the treeflex?

I have the deluxe Master's and its the best saddle I've worn hands down, though I haven't had that many so far. The way its held up so far is great!! Only part I dislike about it is the way to tighten it to your waist. Wish they would have done a buckle design, like the Glide instead of the way they have it now.

jman, when it comes to the durability of the treemotion you dont have too much to worry about, its been holding its own for me thus far, although the lower leg strap looks a little worn for how old it is, but i own both treemotion and treeflex and so far the treemotion is winning, im having a hard time getting the treeflex to adjust to my size and climbing, i keep getting the ring stuck on the shackles and it can be a pain to fight back into place, i have not had this problem ever with the treemotion

like i told you before, ive made some adjustments this weekend and im looking forward to climbing in the flex again, if i dont like it after a month, ill sell it to ya for cheap, but i gotta tell ya, im hoping i warm up to it, the idea is great and everyone else i talk to loves it, im guessing its just the way i have it set up or how im wearing it

cant really get away from the issue of shackle binding unless you go with the Petzl Sequoia which has rings which 'open'.

My complaint with the newer saddles is overall durability.

It is a hard to tell a working wager earner climber looking for a long term investment to buy one of the newer 'high performance' saddles when they don't last nearly as long as say, a Weaver.

Try using a small friction saver ring on the bridge. It's just barely large enough for two carabiners and it's small enough to not fit over the shackles (especially if you have carabiners in the ring.

The pic is of my master deluxe with an added bridge and a small cambium saver ring,
