Tree worker beat by crowd

T.E. Lawrence in his book, "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom" talks of the Arab philosophy.....

If we're quoting British Army Officers lets include this quote by Winston Churchill from, 'The River War' from 1899

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome

Churchill also said this about Lawrence: "He was not in complete harmony with the normal."

Not in complete harmony with normal, saints preserve us.

Exactly my point, Churchill didn't mean it as a criticism of Lawrence's personality, it was a compliment, Lawrence was an advisor to Churchill, I only included it to give a measure of Churchill's humour.

If the west had listened to Churchhill's voice more than 100 years ago 9/11 would never have happened, everything he says about Islam in his quote is true, but people like you would never admit to that because it doesn't fit your weak, liberal left narrative.

No, because its not my choice what religion people follow.

9-11 was a reaction to US foreign policy in the Mid East, not the culmination of Islamic hatred for our freedom. Despite what Fox News says

Okay, just to be fair.....I'll take a clipboard to town with me, with columns W (white), B (black) and H (Hispanic)....under which I will put a check for each person I see with their pants at half-mast, held with that repulsive crotch-grip, slouching along in that ghetto-saunter. Each check will be placed faithfully under the appropriate letter. I'd be willing to bet money on which column has the most checks at the end of the day. Any takers?

The fact remains that there are certain FACTS in life that cannot be altered. Screaming "racist" because someone notices a trend and mentions it does nothing to fix the problem.

Latest on Steve, He is still in intensive care but out of the coma. His memory comes and goes which is a very good sign. They have had him sitting up and also trying to walk with a walker. How long he will spend in the intensive care unit is unknown, more information will come quickly when he is released from the intensive care unit.

Firstly, I've seen Fox news a couple times in my life, I'm aware of it's bias, I find the output an insult to my intelligence. I've also worked briefly for a company owned by Rupert Murdoch (owner of Fox News), during my brief time there I didn't like what I observed going on in relation to some of their businesses practices, I don't like Rupert Murdoch, and I don't like anything he's been involved with. I pity people who use Fox news as a source of information. Same goes for news channels like Al Jazeera and Russia Today.

On 9/11, it is not only a feeble idea, but it is truly grotesque to hold America and the west responsible for religious fundamentalists blowing up the twin towers.

Islamists despise western values, they despise freedom, liberty, democracy and the rule of law. Their goal is to see the collapse of western civilisation.

It isn't just Muslims that look forward to the collapse of western civilization. I despise western values as well because western values and capitalism are putting life on the planet at risk. Oh, but wait, Jesus is coming so nothing we do here matters.

Western values, especially when you are referring to the United States and or Great Britain have more to do with oligarchy, war mongering, and fascism than freedom, liberty, or democracy. The rule of law? Really? Don't get me started on the rule of law when it comes what certain countries get away with.

Unless humans stop fighting over the stupid stuff (race, religion, nationalism, borders, ect) and they start focusing on the real enemies of our species (environmental destruction, war, inequality, religious intolerance, disease, famine, overpopulation, ect) how many more generations will there be? What will the planet be like?

Have you been to a communist country, Ryan? You should go. Sounds like you'd enjoy it.

Hear the health care in Cuba is second to none, but now they got this condom shortage on.

Really though, I don't think Ryan is advocating for communism, just speaking against capitalism. Democracy, communism, both are workable political systems, until you get greedy, capitalist jerks running the show. then its just a system to make as much money as possible at the expense of everyone else's well being. Which may be inevitable with this prodigious planetary population.

I wonder mainly about the child that got hit. What kind of home and parents does he have. What was he thinking when he ran in front of the truck. Why did his body language look heavily stressed prior to getting hit. Was it a mistake or a suicide attempt.

Here's an article and interview with the boy's mother. Just a simple series of bad decisions we humans make. The woman who came to Steve's aid said that he asked if the child was okay before he lost consciousness. Can we please focus some positive energy on this subject for Steve's recovery as well as this boy and leave the violent teens to their fate in the courts? Thank you! http://www.wxyz.com/news/mother-talks-about-son-getting-hit-by-utashs-truck-in-detroit

Not heavily stressed on review. He's warming up for a dash through traffic. Just didn't look close enough or in the right direction. I remember dumb mistakes like that when I was a kid, still happens but hopefully not the same mistake twice.

Witnesses say they saw Joe Utash spending money from his father’s fundraiser at Coliseum strip club in Detroit and that the money was subsequently stolen from him by a stripper.
Joe Utash is the son of Steven Utash of Clinton Township, who was beaten unconscious by multiple people after stopping to help a boy who he hit with his vehicle. Fox 2 reports that, following a fundraiser for Steven on Saturday at Winners in Clinton Township, Joe went to the strip club.
But Joe told Fox 2 that he was spending his own money. He said a stripper wanted proof that he had enough money to pay for the dance. So he showed her that he had $400, and Joe says she took off with it.
While Joe says that was money he worked for, his family says that he isn’t working and is collecting unemployment. But his family also says none of the money from the fundraiser is missing.
Steven Utash’s daughter said her father will be moved out of the intensive care unit and to the Detroit Medical Center’s Rehab Institute of Michigan this week.

Hmmmmm does the word TRAILER come to mind
