Ouch! As soon as he dropped those pieces I thought "that may catch the trunk on fire".

Certainly enforces the argument for maintaining a climbing line to bail out on rather than just the lanyard.

I saw a follow up. The fire died out almost as quickly as it started. There was a climbing line, and he descended without incident.
