Tree Service for Sale in Skagit County, WA

My partner and I are looking to sell our small tree service business. We do primarily pruning and preservation work We work about half time making about $60,000 profits cumulatively (not gross sales, which is obviously higher). We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, and have invested in quality work and kept our overhead low: The sale would include a 1995 Isuzu FRR chip truck and 2005 Morebark 6 inch chipper that has just been re-powered (Kohler gas engine) , chainsaws, pole saws, rigging gear etc.. Everything is fairly basic, but good quality and functional.
We have consistent year around work, a substantial number of repeat and regular customers including home owners associations, greenbelts, etc.. The business could easily be grown, and we currently keep ourselves as busy as we'd like with customer referrals, our website, and a small amount of paid web advertising. No phone book listings, no print advertising. We've had room to grow if we wanted, but because we are as busy as we want to be, haven't. If our goals was to do more than sustain two people on a modest income, we could easily ramp up the business and easily keep two people busy full time, probably more, and a potential buyer could do that, or could simply carry on with our setup and make a modest living.

Our work consists of a small amount of consulting (generally hazard assessment, view management, etc.) with most of our income coming from view pruning work and risk mitigation pruning work.
We've built the business with a focus on long term solutions for trees, and personalized custom service, and have found a good niche within our service area. The biggest reason we're looking to sell the business rather than close shop and sell the equipment, is because we'd like to find someone who will continue to serve our clients, and can benefit from our work of getting this business established.

We'd like to sell to someone who likes trees, and wants to care for trees. The people we work for like trees (actually, they usually love, trees), and generally are looking to keep theirs. It's been a pretty nice gig for us, but we're ready to pursue other careers and would like find an arborist(s) who is committed to quality tree care, and will continue to serve the cliental we've developed.
We're asking $23,000 for the business and equipment and are willing to take payments with a substantial portion of that down, for the right buyer. We'd also be happy to sell only the business and some portion of our equipment, if not all of it is of interest. We're flexible, particularly for the right buyer, and would like to make it work out well on all ends. Happy to talk particulars to people who are interested, and at least moderately serious. We currently are based in La Conner, WA, and our service area is primarily the western half of Skagit County.
I (Ryan) can be reached at 360-488-7439 or through our website: www.insighttreecare.com

We are not selling the equipment alone at this time, but if you're interested feel free to shoot us a message or email and we'll put you on the list if we end up not finding a buyer for the package.
