Anyone use something other than the tree motion cord to replace the bridge on your TM. And if you can replace the bridge is it something you can pick up at Eastern mountain sports?

Jeff does the arbormaster blue streek fit in the tiny holes on the rings of the TM? and is it the same type of cord?

I used a piece of 10mm beeline until my replacement bridge came in. The rope Teufelberger uses is some crazy triple braid super rope. Seems like it would be more cut resistant than a standard double braid.

Using a cordage where the exterior comprises all the strength (i.e. 16 strands and 12 strands) probably isn't a good idea.

to get the arbor master to fit i cut it at an angle and melted it then pulled it threw with a pair of lineman pliers. i cut the ends off and melted them after the knots were set. i've been climbing on it regularly for a month or so.

Thanks inztree,
Ya i'm not sure what kind of cord the tree motion uses and was wondering if there is a comparable cord i could use that would be as safe and less expensive. If not i'll just order up another bridge from treemagineers.

I was also thinking of using snakebite or sterling as a replacement bridge for my tm. Anyone has any experience with it in that capacity? Guess I am just trying to find an excuse to get some static line in.

I use Tachyon for my bridge on my TM. It is a tight fit through the hole, but I like the beefiness of it compared to the original bridge.

I also have thought about using snakebite....I still have my original bridge but am really debating snakebite because it is essentially the same rope construction right?

Amen...

I only use factory replacement parts. Say what you will about rope construction or stretch characteristics, etc. The harness was configured and TESTED with the Teufelberger rope bridge. Replacement with something else is adding an element of uncertainty, however slight it may be.

Thanks for the input guys.
I think i will stick with the original bridge like you suggested.

Ive been using my TM for about a year and a half, however the bridge that came with my tm had some serious wear problems and flattening issues. It was not glazed but severely flattened on one side. It was bad enough that while hanging in the saddle i could not rotate my weight on the bridge.

I tried using tachyon since it has the secondary core and found the flattening issue disappeared, however now I have "altered" a piece of gear, just waiting for my factory replacement to come in the mail. Hopefully i will not have the same issues

I heard that using a different cordage is not good as it has not been tested with any other type of cordage. Yes it is the factory recommended cord which makes it more profitable to them but that's what they recommend and what has been tested so I am with KY and so stick with what was tested and what was factory installed.
