Tree Flex?

That stinks, Zac! I know a person gets excited for new toys (er....tools) and it's a bummer when you open the box and you get the wrong thing.

At least they took care of you.

I hope you hate the saddle so you can sell it to me for $250 :)

It was like unwrapping pink bunny pajamas at christmas instead of a red rider BB gun....

It left Reno today at 10:30 am, which means it will probably be sitting on my step on Saturday!

Great. I need your address. Imagine this craigslist ad:

"I need someone to run to my house and pick up a package left on the doorstep. I am travelling but NEED the package. I will pay for the express shipping and give you an extra $50 for your time. Please ship it to me in Los Angeles."

Cool!!!

Here is a suggestion - go take a trip to Europe. Get some work. Learn new stuff. Make new friends. By cheaper Euro gear in-line with what you're earning.

Sign up on a UK arb course, and buy a TFX with a healthy student discount.

Laz- I'm going to bite the bullet and order your harness. I think Bailey's is the only US retailer. Is that true?

Can you help me with the sizing? I read on your website:

The measurement MUST be taken with tape measure around the rim of the hips, slightly above where a belt sits for most normal trouser wearers (not the waist). To be taken whilst wearing trousers and T shirt. Typically, this measurement is two inches larger than your jeans waist measurement. For example, I take a size 36" waist in Jeans, but my pelvic rim measure is 38" and my hips are 40"...

I am not exactly sure where to wrap the measuring tape to get the size. Is the "rim of the hips" measured at the iliac crest?

I think using where your belt or trouser waist line sits isn't the best reference point since everyone has a different spot where they wear their clothes.

I've taken a few measurements and I am right in the middle of a small and a medium and just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Chuck, thank you. That helps a lot. My pants are the same size, and I'm sitting here measuring all over my hips and waist wondering if I'm small or med.

Did you have it sitting nice and low like you're supposed to?

Hi Nick

Sorry, I missed your post.

OK - I remember these pics: http://seamorelilfoot.smugmug.com/gallery/3420847_NKrRr#191685567_bWZQT

From this, I originally thought a medium was too large for you. But, looking closer, I see it isn't adjusted centrally.

So, a medium will be fine for you. You seem a similar size to Ben from STL - he goes with a medium for his daily work and works great for him. Chuck is right - if its border line, size up.

We're going to have dial that fit in for you though looking at that photo - straps longer one side than t'other!

The leg loops are best snugged up too - feels odd at first, but it really helps in keeping the harness riding low on the blue attachment.

Thanks for dropping the coin - this exchange rate thing really doesn't help our aim of delivering a quality, affordable product.

I think Baileys are the only ones stocking - I haven't had a sales update in a while.

I bet you have a nice custom bridge idea all lined up!

Nick -- I got a medium, I have to wear a belt with my 32x30 jeans. I think we're about the same size.

Havn't been able to set up the new ride yet, been busy at home and work!

Yes and the medium fits great. The side D's position seemed wrong with the small. I didn't know what I was doing with the tape measure and whatever I did it must have been wrong. A simpler sizing system might be in order.

I just ordered my TreeFlex from Baileys. They are back-ordered for 2 weeks.

I could get it for about $100 cheaper if I ordered it from Treeworker in the UK. I wonder what the import fees would be on an order like that.

£58 seems to crop up in my memory. I also remember working it out before, that it wouldn't be worth it.

Baileys will see you right.

Thanks for taking the plunge Nick!

Cheers
