Today....

Light pruning.

just kidding.

A (silver?) maple with bad structure from topping and decay crowded all over the rear of the house. Small landing zone. Some cut and chuck, some free falling, some tip-tied tall pieces.

The cherry and tall skinny alder in the rear had been rubbing for years. The wounds in the alder were on two sides at almost half- height.
A bit tricky.
On the ground at quitting time.

The lower bark doesn’t look super silver-ish to me, but maybe conditions vary out there compared to here. Were the leaves very pale on the underside with bery deep sinuses?

Another branch in the hinge today. 23" Siberian Elm. Limbs on the back side over the primary lines. Underneath was a bunch of newly planted small trees spread around. Client admitted that he should have removed the tree before planting under it. We climbed and removed all the side limbs to make it narrow for the first 30', then put a pull line in it and dropped it into the only place it would fit without hitting a thing. Used a truck to pull slow and steady and left more meat on one side of the hinge when it became clear the wind was trying to have it's way with us. Not today wind!

Man, those are some haggard ass trees. Seeing these makes me realize that I haven't had to deal with a dead tree in a couple of months. Got to climb an especially lovely English walnut today to prune a little and get some sun on an incredible garden. Not even room for spider lift if you had one. A skeleton crew for some ultra tight rigging scenarios. It was a damn fine day indeed.

Yep. The 2.0 is fantastic work saddle that offers gobs of support, which is something I appreciate more and more as I get older. The MB has kinda been my daily driver for awhile now, and I save the MCRS for special occasion.

Amplifies my 3 saddle plan.
MB 1.0 lightweight crane flier.
MB 2.0 the recliner of rigging saddles.
OG MCRS pruning saddle.

Rico, I'd love to send you my MRCS for a redo, over winter's down time. You do an awesome job of it. Of course I'll do a dismantle and deep leather cleaning. We have the same physical build and I too, like the same forward positioning of side rings.
