Cool Santa!I did a Deadwood prune on this elm- pretty sprawling tree I used three TIPS to get around

Interesting job !The cracked pine is down safe and sound, and it went exactly as I planned. Basically pruned out working space in neighboring trees, lifted it with the GRCS, pulled it sideways to clear the building with the Maasdam rope puller and justbrokebent the whole 90 foot tree sideways without a facecut since the core was so rotten and it was so sketchy. Unorthodox, but made sense in the situation and man it worked perfectly.
Even though it went well, my brain is fried from the stress of the project, as it felt pretty hairy at times. Especially when the whole tree was hanging on the rigging and fibers were tearing out of the ground as we were moving it away from the corner of the building. I'll share a few more photos of the process later when I get some my ground guy took.

It was on the edge of the neighbors newly planted lawn, and would have hit a new fence they were working on. Too dead and too much lean/ sweep to try and turn- also an old gazebo would have been the likely target if a felling attempt went wrongI'm curious why you didn't fall it looks like there isn't much to hit on the pictures.
Hickory makes a wonderful hinge. That's pullin' some fiber!!
And fire.Hickory makes a wonderful hinge.
Yeah, with the amount of erosion and washout already from this last one, tomorrow’s could be a real doozy. It is humbling to watch the raw power of nature.Wonder what Saturday will bring, with bigger tide than yesterday. Pretty impressive/depressing to watch. Neat old truck @Treemuel too.

Then again, guess it's all a matter of perspective . . . . . Saturday night will be a bit fresh in YEG . . . .It's 8 degrees out, EXTREMELY rare for here.
My battery blower wouldn't work at all, too cold. One case where gas is better.
