Toasty ash- how would YOU do it?

View attachment 64493 bad picture and angle but- 55' ash, skinny as a rail and dead. Wall and lake to left, 10' lawn and cabin. Property line at base of tree, working on house side. I work by myself and it can't be dropped whole because of the lean towards lake where new stone wall is stacked. Can I piece it by myself ? School me !

We had about 65 feet of tree there. You were right! Guess the stick trick is only good if you can get a good sight on it hahah. Glad I didn't send it across the lawn, it was plenty heavy still.

Lot of variables using the stick. Example, if you lift your head to sight the tips, your eye position changes enough to make a wrong measurement, etc, etc. Ive got a nikon rifle hunter range finder that moves between the golf bag, the shooting bag, and the job bag for 8 years. It just wont die. Great when your LZ is tight.

I will certainly be buying a better one soon. With my old Bushnell 500, I'd have to set a line and hoist up a garbage can to aim at
