Shoveling out the cr*p in this thread just took ten minutes out of my life. Is anyone going to step up and give me my time back?!

I am getting more than fed up with the hogpiling that goes on. Bear baiting may be what you think of as good sport but I don't.

Having to be the Mean Guy sure does take the fun out of Tree Buzz.

Take any further snide comments off-line. If you don't have something to add don't add something to detract. [Hey, that came out pretty well and I didn't even pre-think it!]

Thanks for the comment Tom- it's getting a bit to much like AS antics here. I agree whole heartedly "it takes the fun out" TreeBuzz has always been an informative site with great people contributing to all facets of our trade. lets not make it the Jerry Springer show.
Tom I'm not out ten just two but I'm in with ya!

Re: throwing a big oak top 15\'

Yeah! Thanks for the 'dope-slap', Tom. You do run a tight ship - good job - much appreciated!

Re: throwing a big oak top 15\'

I will give you back ten minutes. I will be in Austin for Thanksgiving, and I will wash your car, or do the dishes or walk your dog. Or, I will take you to Franklin's for BBQ and stand in line for you. I appreciate the work you do to help this site, and since my post was deleted entirely, some of that work falls squarely on me.

Also, I am a recidivist offender with no hope for improvement, so we'll mark me down for an hour and do all the above? I also make a wicked good pumpkin soup . . .

Re: throwing a big oak top 15\'

After the last week...except the time at Expo...these last comments have fully recharged my batteries!

I even got a call from Jim454 with an apology :)

Re: throwing a big oak top 15\'

No apologies from me unfortunately. I truly care about the image that Daniel's website portrays. Honestly, he is a giant doufus, and he can take the criticism, as well as dish it out. I learn a lot on tree Buzz, but I also come here to have fun. Tom, if you can't even spell "crap", without putting an "*" where the "a" goes, I feel for you. But I'm not 60, I wasn't born in the fifties. I can handle a little more drama than this place allows. I spend less and less time here because it is so sterile. If you'll excuse me, I have to go punch a cat in the face, then set my neighbor's car on fire. I'm totally out of control.

Re: throwing a big oak top 15\'

Daniel posted the same vid at Arbtalk, so far its had 90 views and has only achieved 1 comment (a negative one).

Seems the little rant at 1.09 to 1.17 has not gone down well there at all. This is is not surprising as the health and safety culture in the UK legally requires the wearing of chainsaw pants at all times during treework operations (in the tree or on the ground).

So to UK treeworkers the the idea of a person ranting and boasting about not wearing chaps will be seen as ridiculous and unworthy of comment.

You got no sawdust in your pockets! Nothing to show.. just spreading your negativity.. What kind of father has the time to write a critique of my website.. Spend more time with your kids... they need it...

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh Joyous Day! I figured you had me on ignore because you would never answer my questions about the gutter cleaning video promised in your website 1.0
I critiqued your website because I wanted to point out that you are on another level. It's just not the one you think you're on. In fact, instead of paying me $100 to correct the flagrant spelling errors on your website, you might try buying one of those newfangled computers that has spell check installed on it.
Thanks for the parenting advice, Dadio. I'll tell you what kind of father has the time to write a critique of your website; One that is awesome like me.

Just know that I lol in your general direction anytime I hear the squeaky tracks of your skidsteer pulling over a tree.

Re: throwing a big oak top 15\'

Daniel,

Looked okay to me.

I didn't really have a problem with your pine top either, until you talked about how unstable it was, then repelled under it.

nice placement of logs on this one.

Nice job.

You get things done at least and many people these days can't do that.

I watched it once, didn't see any major problems, nice job.

Nice camera placement too.

Might be my first thumbs up. Beside a partial thumbs up for your cabling video once.

Take care,

Re: throwing a big oak top 15\'

Sorry, still FAIL.

You can pull all the smooth moves you like but a video showing blatent disregard for international safety standards should not be presented. Period.

Just put on some chaps please, or at the very least whenever you're filming!

Re: throwing a big oak top 15\'

I prefer universal common sense to international standards..
I run the bucket ALL DAY, and come down to make ONE falling cut, which I know will be at chest level... What good are chaps going to do me?

Still if I had been thinking more about it in relation to the video, I would have put them on.. I honestly was so focused on how to make that falling cut at height with such a tight DZ, that I forgot... Thus the "whoops I forgot to put my chaps on" was an honest reaction, once I realized the camera was running..

Re: throwing a big oak top 15\'

So you leave stumps at chest level? Do you specify that in your bids, or just leave them that way to avoid wearing chaps?

Re: throwing a big oak top 15\'

It is tempting to act as the copy editor and rewrite this post. The tone and language don't fit with how Mark and I have tried to develop TreeBuzz. Most of the time people will answer civilly and take responsiblity for things that aren't clear. Tom

"So you leave stumps at chest level? Do you specify that in your bids, or just leave them that way to avoid wearing chaps? "

The bid on this one specifies that the section of driveway, and cobblestone curb around the stump will be removed to allow the stump to be ground.. If you were paying attention Jeff, you'd have seen and heard me mention that the reason the cut was made at chest level is because there was a co-dominant stem..

Tom D has criticized me for not answering people's questions.. suggesting that I somehow owe him and others an explanation.. Here's a perfect example of some knucklehead asking a stupid question because he didn't pay attention, thus wasting my life's minutes, should I take the time to answer...
