I always tied a double fisherman's knot to make a loop in one rope. The knot man... the knot. I want to se if it wil bind or invert. It looks like an easy to tie rope joiner. Same diameter ropes mate perfectly, super easy to tie.

When I know I am going to really be yarding on a knot, I always use a bowline (single or double) because I know I wont have to use an axe to untie it!The knot man... the knot. Not for a loop, to join two ropes together when 150’ simply wont do. I normally use a zeppelin knot and that works well also. I was sitting on the couch blindly tying knots to improve fluidity when out popped that beauty. By all rights equally easy to tie, maybe a bit more bulky but super easy to untie! My question is will it remain so after I pull it with a truck?I always tied a double fisherman's knot to make a loop in one rope.
Double fisherman’s pulled super hard are a bear to get apart, it can be done but it ain’t easy. They tend to constrict a bit under excessive loading. Of course I use em to create prusic loops and the like.I always tied a double fisherman's knot to make a loop in one rope.
Aye .... I getcha now. I usually just use a pair of bowlines. When concerned about excessive load torquing the knots tight, I'll place a couple of sticks within the knot. Simple and effective. Yours is intriguing. Not for a loop, to join two ropes together when 150’ simply wont do. I normally use a zeppelin knot and that works well also. PS- Here are the upper straps I use with the Caddy pads. I have legs like chicken so you may need a different length. Combine these with the Velcro lowers and your set. Snug as a bug in a rug!
