I’m sitting here feeding my 2 week old baby boy, thinking this is what it’s all about. I would never climb another tree to not miss this moment. I’m grateful it doesn’t have to be that way. My boys and my wife are why I push so hard at work.

It's good to be liked - breeds confidence. I was kickin' it in a pool with my son and girlfriend this afternoon. Had a kickboard that was officially labeled as a confidence booster. However many more likes you got today, @JD3000, I scored way more bigly on confidence. And look, I'm at a... (786÷1054) ...75% alltime likes to message ratio.

@CanaryBoss Congrats man, and don't pay attention to JD and I bickering - we're entering our mid/late career stage and need to store up enough grudge material to start a bar fight (or hug?) by the time we actually meet.

You're absolutely right, of course. We've derailed a thread, and failed to answer the question of what makes it all worthwhile.

My own motivation is nothing as complicated as adding family members to the long roster, or helping starving soybean farmers make it through these difficult days of the Tariff Wars. No, I exist solely for the joy of pitting @colb and @JD3000 against each other until a knife fight erupts.

Hmm. Somehow, I think I might have failed to add anything meaningful to the dialog. Still, I feel better for having tried. Carry on.
