This is a near miss!

Took last week off, and hooked up the chipper this morning for the first day back to work.

The dump has a little bit of overhang from the rear hinges, which is pretty sweet for gentle log off loads. BUT the trailer hitch has to be pulled off before dumping. The new hire must have forgotten, and I’m so glad I caught it.

I just barely noticed something was off, and the angle wasn’t quite right. Almost just thought it was in my head, and rolled off.. I bounced on the bumper a hair, and saw the flex and uttered a few oh shits.

Wow, that’s a problem! That’s also a poor hitch design. We just had a similar issue on one of ours, a bit of re-engineering and about 80 pounds of 3/8” plate later the hitch won’t break loose again!
