THE TREE HOUSE

I have a client in a city 35 miles from here who I have done a lot of landscaping and hardscaping for. Fences, pergolas, etc. and they had a neighbor with small children, a couple houses away. They recommended me to them, as they wanted a treehouse built for their kids and a beautiful locust tree to build it in. When it was completed, I got another call from the original client that they had another neighbor who wanted a treehouse built for when their grandchildren visit. This guy wanted me to brick veneer the treehouse to match the house, which was brick on the first floor, and aluminum siding above that. I told him that brick would be far too heavy, and that I could either use Z-brick or better yet, match the aluminum siding on the upper half of the house.

He proceeded to call me a few names and indicated that I probably just didn't know how to do brickwork and he'd find someone else.

A year and a half later, I was back at my client's house, doing some routine maintenance, and noticed that the old codger had found someone to build the treehouse. It had aluminum siding on it.
