the new dmm oval biner is here and it is sweet.

hi guys,

i dont useually post on here but i felt i had to share this. i just went to my local supplier in the uk and they have the new dmm biner for the hitch climber. he has just put them on his website so check em out.
if i remember rightly this is the biner that was designed for the bottom hole of the hitch climber, i got myself two and tried them straight away and they are the nuts. i was amazed at what a difference the biner actually made to the way the hitch cord sat in my configuration.
i would highly recomend this biner. wouldnt go back to my petzl i have been using. check em out.

Now when you order from treeworker from here in the US can you just use a credit card like visa and it will do all the conversion rates?

Re: the new dmm oval biner is here and it is sweet

hey tree climber to be honest i dont know it is not my place to say im just a bloody satisfied consumer. im sure if you mailed them then they would let you know. the assumption be the mother i would say that it would do it for you.

mark..
i saw the ones with the black metal work and green gates that are on the website and thought they were very kinky in deed with the hc he has in the same colour. i was gonna get one but i was concerned i would have to use them that night and she would have howled and got me in trouble with the neighbours.

Yes. Use your card and all is taken care of.

Re: the new dmm oval biner is here and it is sweet

I'm wondering the same thing.

I'd like to get one of the DMM ones, though. I've never been disappointed with anything from the hands of Denny Moorhouse.

How are they different/better than petzl OKs?

[/ QUOTE ]

I-beam construction = less weight, the triple action gates of DMM hold up longer before lubrication/ cleaning/ replacement is necessary... IMO.

Re: the new dmm oval biner is here and it is sweet

Denny Moorhouse left dmm along time ago I believe. I think he is with ISC now.

Yep. Couple times a year. I'm getting ready to place another order soon. Great service! If you are unclear about any info on the website, just write an email and they'll reply swiftly.

Re: the new dmm oval biner is here and it is sweet

Hi Taylor

Many thanks regarding your positive comments about Treeworker. As many people know, we are a small supplies company based on the idea that having spent over 20 years as a practical arborist I understand a little bit about the daily problems & issues that we are confronted with at the worksite. I'm always happy to give people the time of day to discuss & explain my thoughts as situations occur. Obviously not everyone feels the need to discuss stuff as their own experience is more than adequate to solve problems.

We try our best to get products out to customers in as short time span as possible & as cost effectively as well. Orders weighing in at below 2kgs (4.4lbs) are really quite cheap to send over to the US as standard small packet deliveries are cheap. Above this weight we send all deliveries with a courier that has US deliveries in at 5-7days. There is tax at source although in some cases tax can be applied when the products arrive in the US. Credit card payments are good & I believe that the card company decide the exchange rate based on the day of the transaction & no funds are debited until the goods are ready to dispatch.

The oval biner from DMM is just another marvel from that company, in my eyes. The quality of their products are second to none & they seem to be perminently searching to push the boundaries in terms of design. As I understand it, the Ultra O is the first true aluminium oval that offers a balance to many friction hitch configurations that has prviously not been able. The Petzl OK, although at first glance appears to be an oval, is in fact very biased to the spine of the carabiner which means any configuration will have the tendancy to migrate towards the spine.

Of course each individual can choose whichever components thay are most comfortable with but I feel that this offering does bring something to the table that has not previously been there, even though we thought it already was there.

Many thanks
Robert Knott

Re: the new dmm oval biner is here and it is sweet

So is anyone in the US selling these yet? Can we put together one treebuzz order to ship from one place? Probably still end up costing the same, huh?

Wait- if nod shipped me 10 of them, and a few people each ordered one, I think I can USPS them around the country first class mail for just a buck or two...

hmmmm...

Re: the new dmm oval biner is here and it is sweet

hey nick,

im heading over to aus for three months to a small company im taking a few over to sell to mates, im not sure what the deal is but i havent seen them advertised anywhere else.

i really recomend these biners i have used them everyday this week and if you are sold on the hitchclimber then this biner really promotes some of the characteristics of the hc. i suppose it is the same as the hc where people need to be convinced its a good product but once u have one u will see all of the benefits in it. you may well see other opportunities for the biner in many variations of configurations. i no in the uk there is somea attitude of oh well its just another biner but to be honest i think there are benefits but i dont voice them in the uk coz i feel the forums do not open a discussion on topics but they are hijacked in lieu of irrelivant topics.

i do hope some creative discussions could be created here.

i will take some photo's tomorrow at work and post them so you can see them in their intended use.
