I am guessing that other than being oval and symmetrical (to keep your friction cord, etc. even), it is a bit lighter bc of the gussets (hollows?) in the construction. Perhaps the radius is a bit larger than the OK as well, but I'm not sure.

They are not that hard to find. Not that expensive either. Mine are working well as promised. Like Mark B said they are rather special!
