The Buzz is back up?

Re: mini moke?

Yep, those were the old days. The Mini Moke and the Eriba Puck (caravan), the second, third and fourth mini where all mine:-)

On our way to an International Mini Meeting. Some cars of friends of ours broke down just before the event and where not finished before the event. So thats why all our cars drove in a row.

Why do you restart your computer? The other night a cat got into the nearby substation and a large area lost power for several hours. When I restarted my computers, I got all kinds of warning that filestystems had not been checked for several hundred days (it only gets automatically done at boot time). Except maybe for the odd fan bearing failing, I've only ever had computer gear go bad when changing the power-up state of the equipment, so I leave them on. One time I got over 700 days on a computer between prolonged power outages.

Like to do some nice things with my money, paying the electricity company is not one of them.

I reckon I spend something like $70 a year extra to keep the computers running. I guess that would buy a few nice cigars or so, but wouldn't hardly be worth the cost (time and material) of installing even one new hard drive or video card.

Plus, if I restarted my computers all the time I wouldn't be able to brag about long uptimes :)

There you go.

It's Tux, with some empty beer bottles and some fish skeletons at his feet. Now he's fat and happy!

Did you get the health forum problem straightened out yet?

I can't remember if this is the place to post things about the BuzzBoard that still need tweaking.

On the main page I am shown the number of threads and posts and in red those that are new or unread. When moving to a specific forum I do not see any indication which treads are new and which have new posts.

Jim,

Attached is a composite image. I backed up one level from this open thread to this forum listing and grabbed a bit of the browser window, then I backed up another level to the forums index, overlayed the first image above the listing for this forum, and grabbed another screenshot of them both.

The unread post count is indicated in (1) in the forums index (as you'd noted), and the forum listing itself shows the (one, in this case) thread with (the) new unread post having bolder, darker characters. If there were more than one such thread, they would each have the bold black (or at least darker) characters.

I agree the distinction isn't quite "night and day", but it is made well enough in my opinion.

Are you not seeing such distinction?
