That goofy dork looking guy Nick from Tree Stuff can shove it.

Where it gets me is when I'm in the tree and I'm watching the ground crew between picks. Not including the crane op or the foreman, there will be 3 guys busting ass while 2 are looking for excuses to sit idly. For example, a new hire of 3 days in, has to check his phone every 10 mins, chat with the home owner, make sure the rake can prop him up, chat with our crane op when setting up or folding up the crane...... it doesn't end.
On top of all that, dude lights up a joint during the middle of a crane pick. It was the last pick of the day and my cut was at he base. I helped lay it in the yard when I caught wind of the smell and saw the joint in his mouth. This matter won't be tolerated and it won't go well for him. I don't give a flying fawk what someone does on their own time but, not while your supposed to be working ......and especially in the middle of the clients yard.

I see the slackers in every trade, and yes it's in general. Still, for the ones who spoil the apple, it blows steam out of my ears. Instead of a well oiled machine making the day easier for all, there seems to almost always be a couple of rusty gears. Damn burns me up. Busted my ass for 40yrs now in the trades.
Everywhere I have worked, that kid would have been fired, literally on the spot. WTF

Yea, I hear ya. He's no kid for sure. Late 30s to early 40s. Today was his 3rd day. The company owner only works with the crew on abnormally large jobs. He doesn't see all that's going on. I'm the only one that saw the bad performance today. I didn't keep it a secret though. Shared with crane op and the foreman. Crane op told the owner to talk to me about the whole situation. We'll see what happens.

Sounds like a bad hiring decision

Absolutely. The owners younger brother, who works with us, brought him in. The brother is a hard worker but is friends with this guy. I have respect for the brother. I wonder how well he really knows him.....

We'll see what happens.

Enough derailment. Back to our regular scheduled program.
Tarrifs ....

He is a deal maker.
Thanks for the laugh bro!

You mean like supporting research and development to better our industries and make new competitive or improved products? Or promoting existing manufacturing/forestry/farmers that have been undercut by foreign products where they have no worker or environmental protections, hence the low costs? Let's just cut worker safety and pollution regs and problem solved!

How’s this. When the former biggest employer in Haywood county NC, the Canton paper mill opens up (shouldn’t be hard, only closed a couple years ago), I’ll buy you tariffarians a $50 carabiner. It isn’t for lack of trees to harvest on the ground!

Energy production in this country is at an all time high. We are a net exporter of energy overall. The former administration has little to do with it. The cost has risen due to the demand for energy from the growing economy.

Can someone post a copy of the email?

Tariffs create an opportunity for domestic producers to raise their own prices. If the seller of a foreign product sells something for $100 but now has to charge $130, the domestic producers of the same product can now charge $130. Costs go up for everyone.
You'd be stupid to leave all that money on the table if your a domestic producer.

Yeah, why fix something when you can just buy it from another country. Using that analogy we should seriously consider importing arborists because the American worker just can't produce high quality when compared to the rest of the world.
Consider it? I'd bet there are more imported arborists than domestic ones for at least the last 40 years. I learned a good deal of my climbing from imported arborists in 96.

Lots of actual news being reported for those willing to look.
Don't say news and Fox in the same sentence.

It's amazing how there can exist such drastically different definitions of what "news" is. I don't see any news there, much less actual news. Lots of opinions we have a lot of those here and it is interesting to hear more, but calling it news? What, when, where, how, and why.

Between EO 14225 and 14270 there will be plenty more trees laying on the ground. Because you know critical fish habitat loves logging.. and sunset orders for basically all environmental protections..

Oh and never mind this outdated stuff. (Actual prob is as the links are now dead)
“in the United States, it is common practice for raw materials to be exported, converted into finished goods and imported back into the United States.[62] For this reason, more raw goods including logs and pulpwood chip are exported than imported in the United States, while finished goods like lumber, plywood and veneer, and panel products have higher imports than exports in the U.S.”

Kevin O'Leary was not giving his opinion on China's trade policies. These are well known facts verified by many other people.

Fox News is one of the only mainstream media sources that actually are reporting, what, when where, how and why.

Why does he say "I think" all the time then. News has nothing to do with one's thoughts.
