Texas TCC

not sure if this pic is going to be big enough to see the numbers or names, but I thought I'd try. Thanks to all for the hospitality and the fun weekend.

Calculating scores on a board.....Brilliant! That's what we need to do here instead of a couple people hunched over a lap-top, that way everyone can see what's up. Nice!

40 CONTESTANTS! Yeah!

Some should back me up on this, but laptops are involved in tallying. Posting the scores on the board is great.

Good to meet you, Noel. Makin' plans for St. Louis.

See also this thread on Tx TCC and below it for another pict of the board and a collection of some of the guys in the Masters Challenge, Awards, and Rec Climb.

How come the Kiwis weren't ranked? Was it open to Texans only?

Look at that footlock Abram... daaaammmmmmmnnnnn! What's next, 14 secs?

I think you're seeing his score. Different from his actual time.... But not by much!

yup, those are scores. Miguel won 20 points with a time of 15.something. If Abram got 14 points, his time was around 22 sec.

The out-of-staters were not considered part of the contest for purposes of choosing the finalists since they were not eligible to represent our chapter. I believe lots of chapters do it that way, though some apparently would allow their scores to affect the prelims (i.e., if they had a FL time of 12 seconds, Miguel would have only scored 16 points). Noel actually would have lowered Miguel's (and everyone's) Work Climb score, since he was the fastest.

For example, as it turns out, the board shows me ahead of Rick, but Noel would have brought me down to 9th place overall (not 8th) if his score counted.
