Test preps (core)

I'm studying for my first leg of my pesticide applicators license test (the core test) and I'm wondering if y'all have any recommendations for certain areas to focus in on more than others. The study guide I have isn't exactly a smooth read.

Any thoughts? I feel like I'm passing a mental kidney stone after every chapter. Beer does seem to be helping. A lot better than bourbon oddly enough (and by beer I mean twisted tea. Yea. That's how I roll. Deal with it.)

I just passed mine again and I can tell you to study the laws and regulation part more so than the rest. I knew the rest pretty well but didn't really care what red tape bs took care of what law and paid for it in the quizzes.

I did take all the quizzes and the test at the end then focused on the sections i did poor and forgot about the ones i did well in.

The core is painful. Do you guys know if you can use study material for the sections? I was surprised that we could in pa. I passed mine the first time around in Va and they did not allow study material for the sections, so it seems to vary state to sate.

My advice is to look for training/testing site. That way you go through a full day of trainging and then you take the test while it's fresh.

I've been reading and studying for my test (tuesday)

Is the vocab in the back particularly important? How many questions are on the test and how long do I have to complete it? Multiple choice or open ended questions? Is the test broken up into categories or all scrambled together?

Do remember this is for the PA test not NJ, but the vocab is important, the test was 50 questions, multiple choice, and all scrambled together. Hope that helps.

how was it? im looking to sit soon for mine?!! we have been doing a "non spraying PHC program for about 5years...i simply cannot wait anymore...im holding back my biz......did you find it tough?

Study your math! At least 5 questions on their that are math based. They do offer you a conversion table though

There was 80 questions. I flew through the first 70 in about a half an hour. The last ten were based on a specific label. They literally give you the answers but it's up to you to know how to sort through the label to find them.

I did pretty well on the test and left confident that I passed. Applicators license is next for 3a which should be a ton of fun then there's a desperate fertilizer test. After that, CDL (for me anyway). It's going to be a busy spring.

Paul. Do much verticle mulching? If so give me a shout, I'd love to come out and observe and see what your using as backfill
