So does the tire salesman! We replaced all but 4 drive tires and all the wheels.

What 'she' (why always a she with us guys) needs; is to be parked beside my chip truck with an 18' aluminium dump in order to survive the salt we seem to like here in the GTA.

Nice truck sir!

Re: TCI\'s Effer 655 Knuckle Boom

We just did a demo of that the same set up. Seems sweet, but it is tough swallowing that kind of price tag.

Anyone out there who has a kboom, how much more productive does it make you feel and can you do the same jobs before with less guys?.

I guess I am asking I could just buy one, everything brand new, would you do it again no questions asked?

Re: TCI\'s Effer 655 Knuckle Boom

I definately would do it again. It is alot more productive for me. I have a small company and being able to operate it myself solved the problem of needing anothher climber at the time. I now have someone else learning to climb which is helpful. I didnt seem to be able to organize my business to be able to get a climber and operate the crane too so it was a perfect solution for me. I had a boom truck before so it was a step up in both capacity and versatility for me.

Did you keep your boom truck? And where you worried about getting that size of a truck into places? Mainly driveways?

Re: TCI\'s Effer 655 Knuckle Boom

Jeremy, i live in marysville ohio and would love to come help you on a removal with your kboom some time, i have been doing tree work for about 4 years just me and one guy most the time, anyway let me know if i can come help some time, would love to offer help to get to be around such a nice kboom.

Re: TCI\'s Effer 655 Knuckle Boom

DavidJ if You guys have the work, you can't go wrong. I wouldn't trade either one of my knuckle booms (55 ton & 175 ton) for ANY crane. They just set up too fast and are so versatile. (we've been through this debate over and over here on TB......all the advantages etc.) funny more and more people are buying them now.....watch to see if any of them ever go back to stick cranes? Art from Smith crane brought the 655 demo by here the other day. Another arborist from IL was looking at it while they watched me picking out an oak and spruce with the 55 ton.

Art as saying he was going to Urbana, he came from our place before he went to you. We are leaning toward getting one, we just want to make sure we put the right truck together for the right cost.
We have the work to keep it busy, and the right people to run it. I would like to come to Urbana and see it in action. I have to go to Chicago at the end of the month, mind if I come buy and take a look?

Also, does anybody know the major differences between pm and effer? Haven't researched pm much. Tried to contact them, but they haven't responded. Maybe that is a sign.
