TCIA Expo Get Together

Hey guys, made it back to town and got a little rest.

It was fantastic to see everyone out there at the show, I had a great time and hope everyone else did as well.

It would of been nice if we had more hours in the day so I could of meet more of you guys that stopped by and had a little more chat time. As you all could see, the booth was pretty busy to say the least, but thanks to everyone who stopped by, I really appreciated it.

Dinner on Friday was sweet, sounds like our gang in the dining room missed a bunch of you guys. What a bummer!! Apparently my head was hitting the pillow when the real action started...... Anyway, we will make it a point to have a second annual dinner next year in Baltimore.

Um, ok I was the one that got into the fight with Simon. Actually it was more of a mock fight. Actually it wasn't a fight at all, it was a practicle joke that Simon and I were playing on his brother Stephan(easyphloem).

Ok buzzers let me fill you in,

Last week I pm'd Stephan about the tci expo. I told him I had a bottle of homemade wine I wanted to give to him. He said he wasn't going to make it to the show but his brother Simon was going to make it and I could pass the bottle to him.
Later he pm'd me and said he wanted to prank Simon. Simon hates conflict, easy wanted me to get a bunch guys and talk smack about the guy from tree buzz they call easyphloem. while Simon stood by. He was looking to put Simon in an awkward position.
So....I said I would think about it, not knowing Simon or how he would react. That night while lying in bed I thought hmmm.... this would be an excellent opportunity to turn the table and prank Stephan.
The next day I got in touch with Simon, told him the plan, and asked him if he wanted to get involved with it. He wasn't just up for it, He was 100% committed(practicle jokes must be huge in the Zimmerman family) We had a whole night of planning and beer drinking at the expo get-together. For the record, I had two beers(in case my wife is reading this)
So, here's how it was going to go down. Everything was going happen according to plan,(stephans plan) except instead of putting Simon in an awkward state he was going to haul off and punch me for talking smack about his brother. We all got a good laugh over this. The Heartwood guys would leak the news to Stephan, treebuzzers would post questions and comments on the buzz, Simon would'nt say much more than he had a lot to drink and doesn't remember what happened. And me.... well, I would pm stephan with the biggest sob story he had ever heard.

Yep, The quick witted, super intellegent, (liberal leaning), easyphloem, fell for it, hook, line and sinker.

Hope you're a good sport easy, did I mention that this was mostly Simon's idea?

Oh, and I almost forgot, talk to Simon, he has a bottle of wine for you.

Well, here is a second generation of tree guys. My son Parker (7) and Jim Steele's son Levi (6) made it to the T.B. get together too.

I hate you guys so much. You made me look disparagingly at my brother. I hate to look that way at anyone. When you wrote me that he kept punching you while your 6 year old was crying......classic.

I am going to put Simon in a headlock this morning, followed by Todd, and when I see Tree Rat, and Tom D. (who I wrote a scathing email to last night), the same goes for them.

This is your one-time prank of the old Skeet. Laugh while you can, monkeyboys!

The joy of joking a joker can't be measured :)

Being around a bunch of folks who have such fun on a moments notice is precious.

I hope that you can laugh now, or at least, soon, Stephan :)

I can't help that you all needed to put so much energy into a prank just to get my attention. I mean, I'm flattered that you guys couldn't stop talking about me, but really, wasn't there a whole conference going on at the same time?

It was call TCI-something or other.

I guess it's always easy to go with the phloem.

Here are the behind the scene pm's between me and easy.

easy:

I think I owe you an apology, maybe the idea of pranking my brother wasn't a good idea. I hope things didn't get too ugly.

Jim454:

It was terrible, I tried to tell him, "it was only a joke", "it was only supposed to be a joke". He just kept punching me. It was terrible, my kid was crying,"stop hitting my daddy". Luckily a bunch of guys broke things up and we ran out of there. I'm never going to go to another tree expo as long as I live.

easy:

I don't know what to say, that is the most terrible thing I have ever heard, and also the most un-characteristic behavior for Simon. He has a 6 yr. old boy himself, I will talk to him. I feel so bad about this.

Jim454:

It's ok,
It was actually kind of fun being man-handeled by Simon. He's really cute.

easy then responded with words that I cannot share with you all.

The rest is history, You're a good sport easy, it was blast hanging out with Simon and the other Heartwood guys.
