I didnt put any music to this one so later when my son watches this (if he is a climber also), he can see that I wasnt always perfect on every cut. So dont get mad at your self when your not (its not the end of the world). Also that the old man thought about what he wanted the tree to do when he cut it, dont just cut to cut..... HAVE A PLAN FOR EACH CUT! Oh and talk to the guys on the ground, let them in on whats going through your mind so its not a surprise to them later.

Thanks Tree Guy, that is exactly how the crew is. We are only a three man crew so talking and having a light attitude is a great tool to have. Most of all discipline with each thing we do.

I gotta say, I like the climbing echo for those smaller cuts, you can throw it around and not feel so bad ya know? Great footage Fairfield, thanks for sharing. Can't work with downer people, as the work can be tough enough. I've found the overall attitude can be critical for jobs. It's nice to hear the vocals, great teamwork, safe, and everyone was on the same page. It looked like your positioning was fine, and nice to handsaw those smaller cuts... it's amazing how much weight a little piece can hold!

I like the 'pull in, lower on the chipper, clean up and be done with it set up... Were you able to film any more of the job?

I did get some of the blocking down of the poles. I did cuts that I was able to handle and throw over the fence (I didnt want to the guys on the ground have to go around the fence and have to cut and throw it over the fence just to walk back around and pick it up again). Im going to try and do a compalation video of each week of work. Its nice to look back and see a good week of climbing but truely this is all for my son to watch one day. Life isnt a given so (knock on wood) something was to happen to me he has plenty of video to see who his old man was.

good of you to show the mistake.. its a good way to learn.. and shows juts how easy it is to take your mind off one small detail... the results could have been much worse in a different scenario.. so we all got a freebie there.. thanks for sharing
