Tachyon/Lava photos anyone?

Howdy all, just wondering if anyone has photos of their Tachyon/Lava ropes in use. I'm trying to make the decision of which color to order and always hate how the glossy magazine shots of brand new rope don't offer the truest comparison. I think I'm leaning towards the Lava configuration. Also... the new PI/Blue Moon color looks good. In comparison to Poison Ivy, does Tachyon have more or less noticeable elasticity while climbing on it?

Thanks folks

Here's one.

imo, the Tachyon has slightly less stretch the the PI.

Ropes can be tricky to photograph when it comes to their colors, and Lava is the latest example that I worked with. In your hand, you see the blue and orange clearly, but even from just across the room, those colors blend together and make the rope appear purplish. The blue/green Lava looks stays blue, but a lighter shade.

Just got mine from sherrill on Wednesday plus fly, KMIII, 200 ft 3/4 stable. Can't wait to try it out, but still a fly fan.

cam how do you like the tachyon? I'm not much of a fly fan, too slippery for my taste. I still can't believe you don't like the velocity. It has such a nice tacky feel to it. Does the tachyon have the same feel?

no it doesnt. i have a hank i received couple days ago which i shall be testing out tomorrow for the first time. i hope its good, im also a huge fly fan and i believe fly is being discontinued in the uk.

thats alright steve, send me some of that sweet euro gear we cant get here and id be happy to buy some fly for ya, how much is ocean polyester selling over there for? over here its over 6 bucks per foot! damn euro to american

I used the fly saturday for the first time. It def had a slippery feel to it but I liked it. I used it with bee line. The hitch was very sensitive to my hand pressure which was nice. Only problem was it seemed to run on me at times.

If anything Tachyon is slightly more slippery than Fly or PI. That's good because it starts to self tend a Pantin a few feet off the ground. It gives ascenders very little resistance, appears to have a very tight/smooth surface. I think you're going to want to wear the smurf gloves or equivalent high grip light gloves for the most ascent efficiency. It's super firm and very low stretch for a semi-static as others have mentioned. But if you like a fat easy to grip barehanded rope it's not the one.

I use 8mmm Beeline in a 4 wrap XT (VT variant), works very well, no complaints there. I think any of the quality 8mmm heat-resistant prusik cords are going to do the trick once you get your hitch tuned.

What diameter Beeline and what hitch are you using?

Thanks moss not what I wanted to hear but I'll give the line a shot and
see if I like it. Worse case scenario if I don't like it I'll sell it cheap and buy a velocity. I just wish you could splice both ends on the velocity.
