One more permutation to the puzzle. Some folks believe the non-redundant 1.0x tip loading of DRT or SRT Cinched offers more safety than the approx x1.6 tip loading catch-crotch-redundant base tied SRT. Well you can have your cake and eat it too. Run up a SRT line cinched (either pure SRT or hang a DRT secret weapon off it) and base tie the SRT line Without Tension - you now get 1.0x and catch crotch redundancy. 
edit - bad memory of natural wood/bark/crotch measured tension ratios, but likely 1.4 to 1.5. 1/1.4 = .66, 1/1.5 = 0.7 so a fairer value for tip load is 1 + 0.7 or x 1.7. Petzl found x1.5 back in the day but wasn't heavy on the details of how they measured it.
