Supplies at Menards?

I know...not a chance!

However, while in the store, I saw they have throw line and weight combo pack for $9.99 (plus an 11% rebate....):

Here is a pic of the line:

Looks like other 2.5+ mm polyethylene orange and yellow discount throw lines. I have a spool of similar line that I bought cheap and never used because it feels too stiff and I like Dynaglide too much.

If I needed another throw bag I might have bought it...but I don't, so I didn't.

The more scary thing to me is who is gonna buy this and try to climb?

I just saw this item the other day at menards. I did not buy it as I have been liking a smaller diameter throwline, but I did grab a couple of their felling wedges to try out.

LOL...I picked up 2 of the 6" spiked wedges too! Have been cutting some smaller trees for a forest improvement project and the 10" wedges I have are too big for a lot of the little trees (and bigger to carry through the woods all day). They were $3.50 a piece, so can't go too wrong trying.

Yep... through center of hinge. Works great. We are removing all maple under 12" dbh. Most are getting girdled and treated or smaller trees with smooth bark are just getting basal bark spray. But all trees that could fall to road had to be felled. That was a lot of 8-10" trees leaning the wrong way... Most of those are done, but there was more than 1 occasion I wish I had smaller wedges. I do now...

How long is that? My first thought was it was too big to carry through the woods all day - but I saw a couple of reviews said they carry it on a climb.

it is like 2 or 3 feet long. I use mine on spars. perfect for tipping over wood. It is easy enough to carry around when felling trees because it replaces wedges, axe, and pevey.

I bought two of these kits just to get the bags. I cant find throw bags anywher else as cheap. Of course my closest Menard's doesn't stock them so I had to have them shipped.

I bought two of the Forrester throw line/bag combos. Its a good deal if you only want the throw bag. The throw line is total garbage. Ive been messing around with mine for a week, just because i hate to throw away line. But it tangles itself into hundreds of knots just sitting in a pile. Have you ever tried to untangle steel wool? Well, thats easy compared to this line.

If you cut the line into shorter chunks it's more manageable. I cut off a 25 foot length to take into the tree to advance to limbs I can't get my climbing line over and it seems to work ok for that.
