Sunny February Day

Steve Connally

Been here much more than a while
One if the things I want to do in 2016 is document some of the work I do. The main frustration is using iMovie and my iPad for everything. I guess the more I use it, the better I'll get at it. The other challenge is to keep it at a length that won't put you to sleep as the viewer. The video is nothing special or complicated. It certainly pales in comparison to many of the videos on here. The skill required for this particular tree was not at the level of what many of you do every day. I guess I just wanted to see what I could produce and show that I'm more than just a guy who talks about tree work. It was a fun tree with the exception of big cajones not paying attention and smashing my leg with a big piece that should have been lowered immediately. He knocked me off the tree and I ended up upside down. Naturally I left that out. Feel free to nitpick. I know it's coming. I one hand at my own risk. That's all I'll say about that. Thanks for watching

I basically had to let go and lost my balance while holding the saw and shutting it off so disaster didn't strike while yelling stop and a few f bombs. It wasn't a proud moment.

Nice Steve. Don't sell yourself short- that was a good size tree. I'm gonna have to get an Omni block.

You've shown an amazing willingness and ability to hang your ass out, let us see the flipperoo footy!
not sure what you mean but I'll put it up tonight. At basketball practice now and it's on the iPad

If you mean what I think the only real way I can get better is via a second set of experienced eyes or many of them. My workplace doesnt even notice when I screw up unless I smash something. You guys are actually helping me a lot.

When I do it will appear the piece is tied out too far. It is if you're not gonna lower it. The rope man, who is the second climber put too many wraps on the porty, didn't flake out the line and didn't address the hockeling so the piece locked up. Walked away with only a bruised leg and ego plus the overwhelming desire to punch him in his throat.

When you "hang your ass out" you take a little risk, know what I mean?

Most people are too scared to even put up pics, let alone video. You're an even more rare breed, the kind that will write out a description of how and why you fucked up.

I'd wager that you are one of the more honest people in the forum, which I applaud.

Guess I'll have to watch again. Thanks guys. I gain nothing by acting like I'm big shit or better than I am. My life and safety are more valuable than my pride or ego. With me,!what you see is what you get. No bs. No drama. Just brutal honesty. Lol
