Stupid arborist

Close, too close for comfort! One of those damn moments, glad you caught it in time.

So, where was your head at the while you were going through that maneuver?
If you're asking oldoakman, I'd have to say it doesn't matter because his double check saved him. I'd also guess he saw some hot ladies down below. That'll ruin you every time.

TH: My head was in the game. I had a good 3 point contact and had just released my lanyard and was picking up the hitch when I noticed it. Re-lanyard in and fix the problem. Again, check and recheck.
TL: While there could have been some hot eye candy below, especially since it was near the downtown campus of the local state U, there was no such luck at that time. Besides, my kids are a lot older than the co-eds. Remember I am oldoakman for a reason. There is some snow on the roof, but the fire in the furnace is dwindling. It happens.

Cool! I'm trying to look at these things in light of what Tara2 has introduced to me by way of the "Field Guide to Human Error". The near misses deserve the same degree of analysis to get at the dangers that we're exposed to every day and how we can build into our routine actions that will better assure we avoid the accidents that lurk.

I wasn't trying scoff at your question btw TH, just using your setup to preach the importance of the double check.

I'm gonna look into that

Hey TL, you gave a plausible analysis! But, I think you'd need to back it up with some photographic evidence.

What? You mean the hot mommas? I should've taken some pics today then. Geez. I love yoga pants.

Same place tomorrow I'll see what I can do...though I'll probably end up in trouble over it somehow :D

Who's the stalker now? :)

Unfortunately, due to booking it all day to complete the job I got no pics. We were running out of room in the chip box and the dump site was over an hour away. Had to put all palm fronds by the road for city pick up. Those things will ruin a load of chips.

Dunlap would've probably deleted my pics anyway :)

In light of this, we find no substantive evidence to support your theory of the causes of the aforementioned incident and as such must rule it out as the underlying factor. However, if said evidence does come to light, please forward any and all material to us by private message for our serious consideration.

Mac your experience reminds me of the time I walked behind the truck to see that I left the pintle tab up.....after driving across town! Whoa! Now I have another gear mentally when I do multi step anything. Nothing else gets done until all steps are complete and double checked. Someone else does it, and I double check it before proceeding.
