Thanks for this post, Brad. Really nice to know what such an experienced saw mechanic thinks of the way the saws are designed, from the maintenance and repair perspective.

Thanks also for being so open in sharing your knowledge so freely with the community, and for making your customized saws so easy to obtain, for those that have an interest.

Brad in your opinion is there a 40cc-ish saw that takes well to modifying. I have a 60 but think I would like something in between the 201T and the CS590.
 
Hi Brad, you have done quite a few saws for me and I love them (esp. the ported 461)...but one, an ms201T you did the basic mods on is still a dog and we just use it for ground work.

Since then a guy recently sold me an almost new 201 for $300. I just couldn't pass up with a 16" bar and we are real impressed (surprised) with it. I climb with a stock re carbed 200 and can't imagine any 201 out cutting it tho.

But maybe I can give you back the 201 you did to check out and at the same time have you do the basic mod on the 201 I just bought and do my employee's 150 he recently bought? Nice to hear you are taking on non porting work.

Ps...how much for a ported/modded ms241...that looks badass.
 
I'm sorry to hear that. Absolutely, send it on back. I'll check it out.

The 241 is quite pricey for its size, but it's amazingly strong after mods. They run $855 modded and shipped.
 
Hey if you guys want a strong reliable saw you should consider a reputable builder that honesty and integrity are first and foremost in there business plan. I would recommend Jack Beelar Hi rev saw works . Dig around on the net a little and you'll see what's what. This other guy leaves allot to be desired in both performance and customer relations.

Making ported saws slower than stock saws one job at a time! Learn how to sharpen fellas, then your saw will cut as fast as his ported saws. Unless it's one that has a popup that hits the spark plug. Those ones are fast!!!

You're a liar, plain an simple. If you had half a clue what you're talking about, you'd know that's not physically possible with my built parameters.

I guess that's 2 liars then me and you. O yea none of the riff raff wants you on the other site. You know the one you can't cry to the mods to and have threads and posts deleted in. You can quit checking in on us there. Your not welcome there. I feel sorry for you guys if you think Brad builds a strong saw. Strong wheel chock is more like it. It's a real shame he moans and complains so much on AS, and has his bad feed back deleted. You guys could have seen what he's all about. Lying never accepting defeat etc... Have fun with this narcissist guys. You'll learn. O yea let's not forget about his saws that fly too.
