Stihl MS201

I got my new little baby chainsaw yesterday.

Did a little take-down job on an old dead horse chesnut tree. Nothing fancy and didn't use it long enough to really make a statement about the 201.
It's my second new saw in one week

Last week I exchanged my 14 year old 046 for a brand new Dolmar 7900 and so far I didn't regret that choice for a second. What a powerhouse is that machine. The weight/HP ratio is great and that is something that Stihl can't top.

I will post some pictures of the little Stihl saw tomorrow.

you should have bought a brand new ms460!! the Dolmar has a cheap plasticky feel and is a piece of sh*t!

Personally I'd have bought a Husky 372xp or a JRed 2171.

On the MS200, I've already told my local dealer to hide two MS200s away for me as the new Stihl ms201T is pathetic in comparison. The 020 was even better than the MS200. I've still got one thank god!

long live the MS200!!!!!from my cold dead hands Stihl! from my cold dead hands you sons of b*tches!!

i still have the echo and use it. i now have one robust saw for palms and one for trees. i would never run my new 200T in a palm. unless you cut alot of palms, you just dont know how bad they are. they are fricken saw killers. so the cheaper echo now becomes the palm saw

On Thursday I'm taking the saw back to the shop to have some tweaks done.
The saw vibrates more than the old model and the saws clutch smothers regularly. This is mainly if not totally to be blamed on the new chain. The 'old' model chain goes back on to tackle these 'issues'.
Also the factory standard limiter is going to be removed and a adjustment on the carburettor is going to be made to make it run on a mix that's richer. These last two 'issues' can not be done without special tools.

[/ QUOTE ]Don't hold your breath waiting for the Husky. That saw was promised to us halfway May..... Next we heard, "it will be November".

So far there are no complaints about the new MS201.
