Really want that professional electric top handle saw to hurry up and come out! That really goes along with my company's sustainability theme.

I'll see what I can do.

We should probably wait to see what the 201T brings. This saw is the CEOs baby and very few people are even allowed to build this bad boy. It's easy to say the 201T will flop. Knowing what little I know about how Stihl works, my bets are on the 201.

a tiny bit more horsepower for a full pound more?? no way not happening. go buy an echo 360t and be over with the 200T haha :P

I used echo tree saws for years, good luck with yours, and hope you got a spare. Ours were being repaired more than worked. Those recoil springs are more fun than a barrel of monkeys

. Dropped a little more cash on the 200t and never looked back.

Anyone want to buy a couple echos?

just tried my new ms 201 t last week. it feels week and the acceleration is pretty slow. am I the only one who dislike this saw ?
the old ms 200 t is the best climbing saw ever made ! :-)

Down here my stihl dealer still has a few 200t's and one has my name on it. I cannot see myself using any other saw. I must not be too environmental ( not really so ) but most low emission anything seem to suck.

It seems to me that over the last few tears the whole stihl line up has gotten more and more gutless as the emission bs has gotten tighter. Pretty much since the 0 changed sides(260) and now that the 1 has gotten involved

. We just got 2 261s and they are are a complete P.O.S. 1 has been back to stihl twice in a month and the other is a paper weight. I'm gonna start rebuilding the basket cases under the bench. 026+spark arrestor removed= badas$ crane removal saw.

i picked up an 026 from a guy at work and it is my favorite saw...the thing just eats.

so if the new stihl 201 sucks...whats the go-to climbing saw now? husky? echo? is Dolmar still making climbing saws?

Never used a husky so I can't comment but I have never had any problems with this line up 192,200,260,460 or a shared 660. That stihl line up covers all bases down here ( the service down here is fantastic ), and in the tropics the wood is dense and hard as nails ( a few species are soft ), sharp chains and high revving saws or go home.

I have been collecting any saw that does not end with the #1.
Also have a new 201T that Snelling ported. Not too bad! Drill out that muffler boys!

The 201, 261, 441 etc are 'straocasted' design - different intake & exhaust porting to burn more fuel. Less unspent fuels into atmosphere ...
Less benzine in our lungs...

Welcome to the future.
I have to believe that Stihl knows the 201 is gutless. Must fix problems with acceleration soon or lose customers to Husqvarna.

I have one last 200T in a box - brand new :)

You all can say what you want about the Husky 338/Jonsered 2139T, but my new one rocks, just like the old one did...all it needs to come alive is a muffler mod. The old one still runs well, except for needing to be primed to start when hot or cold. It has lost some power. The new one seemed peppier in stock form, so seemed to only gain about 20% in power and cut speed when I put on the muffler. The first saw was close to 35% faster.

That is the case with all saws though, right? Mod the muffler and gain power.

I didn't like the 201t as much as the 200t either when I first got it. It seemed to improve over the course of the first month or two. There are a few things going on right now that will also improve the performance going forward. I now believe that my perception of the new saw is why I didn't like it as much. It sounds more quiet and spits out a lot less exhaust, and has less vibration. That combines to make it harder to truly compare the two saws.

Any way you slice it, I know that the new saws will keep being upgraded as time goes on. If you like one saw now, you'll love it in a year or two. I for one like the new saws. The new 441 with the m-tronic system works great for me. I also came around to the newest 201t as well. Though I will say that I loved the 200t and that makes it hard to accept change. Time marches on though so I guess I have to let it go.

I do believe that stihl will work the kinks out of the new saws eventually, I am just happy I have the tools to get my work done until they do.

stihl seems to be dumming down there saws less screws and more cheap plastic clips to hold things on . my 441 sucks i have 4 stihl chains saws just sitting there broken . some were only a little over a year old . my chainsaw mechanic said the best saw to get are echos . the technology is simple and they just run forever . i have tried them and i really do like them . they never give us any issue . the stilh always has something wrong with it . i have never really used husky before , but they are always in my mechanics shop being fixed . he said the oilers suck and always need repaired .
