The following is from the QuickTakes for the month of January. QuickTakes is a bi-weekly e-news memo with information, updates, and results from OSHA about safety and health in America's workplaces.

"Chain Saw Recalled by Consumer Product Safety Commission

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)(http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml06/06063.html)

announced Jan. 11 the voluntary recall of Stihl-brand MS 192 T Chain Saws. According to CPSC, these saws can leak fuel, posing a fire hazard. A problem with the saw's clutch assembly springs-which can allow a spring to be projected from the saw housing-has also been discovered. Visit OSHA's Web site for more information on "Working Safely with Chain Saws."

It is not clear, I did not read the original recall information. I received the notice from OSHA today.

It's the same recall but now more public probably.

The recall I responded to was about the same issues and both where fixed in one go two months ago.
The saw runs great but the picking up revs to full throttle still buggers me.

treespotter, it's a tiny and gutless 30 cc motor.....open the muffler way up, it's perk right up!!! Mine has had full mods, revs quick and will keep up with a bone stock 200t in wood under 8 inches or so!!

I found the 200 having similar fuel leakage problems as with most every saw I ever owned or operated. Can't seem to keep them from leaking. I hardly ever hold a saw as it was intended to be held. That may have something to do with it.

Roger,

This was the best tuning advice /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Opened the muffler by drilling 'up his nose' with a 10mm metaldrill. Picks up the revs much better and the power is now that good that I leave my 020/MS200 in the truck. They probably get replaced with more 192's. This old man /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif loves their weight.
