Sterling rope rod

I’m not not seeing the the hitch being reversed, the long diagonal “bridge” that runs from top to bottom is next to the tether in both pictures. The bridge at the bottom does go to the opposite side, climbstihl may be right that it is a Catalan.60457

It's similar to the catalan. But he comes off the top wrap straight down, the cross in the back where your pic the top wrap comes across the host and wraps diagonally downward then crosses on back side... Only a slight difference

Here’s the difference:
On the first hitch I’ve tied (Martin), which is a slight variation of the Michoacan, as the cord passes over the front leg it takes an extra twist. Afterwards the steps are the same as a michoacan. From the second photo, I’ve connected the hitch to the biner on the ‘backside’ of the hitch. I prefer t this way because I tends better. I’ll take more photos!

Michoacan (blue cord) from both sides
Martin (green cord) from both sides

Hey Brock while I got your attention, I been using this hitch I just made one day and really like it so far.... Do u reckonize it at all? I don't recall seeing it anywhere but I'm just curious...

Inspiration came from a couple places and hitches....I can explain but I just wanted to see if it's been named(not that I'm trying to claim it) or if anyone uses it.

I'm having a hard time posting the pics...what's the first thing you click on to start the process. I get almost there then when I hit the post reply button "oops we ran into problems"

This is the side that faces away from me(back side) and the above post is the hitch facing me. Sometimes I use it with more or less wraps but I always have at least 2wraps up top.

Sorta like that hitchhiker hitch u use ithink they were calling it the knut hh or as Rico called it the Busta knut or something...and the stitch but instead of the eyes of cord going through a ring, they go through cord intead plus I like how the cord squeezes the eyes together as opposed to them pushing apart like when tending a mihoacan for example...

@yoyoman has a video on YouTube about hitches to use with the hitch hiker. Knut H and Catalan as well as michoacan are described there. Very slight difference between Catalan and Knute h but they perform quite differently for me

They work any good?
I love it so far. SRS with wrench or MRS. that pic is of a lanyard so when I've used it as my primary climbing hitch I tend to have another wrap or so depending of length of cord and all. So far it's done well for me both with sewn or knotted terminations

Yea I always liked the knut and mihoacan but never tried that Martin or catalan

Mowerr, that’s a new one to me, it’s going to need a name!

Here’s the hitches being discussed, not much difference between them. The bottom right is the Michoacan.

I wish it was called the Catalan V as it has the same form as a Catalan and is very different than a Knut that tucks under a wrap and not into a bight.2019-06-17-13-57-53-729.webp

I grouped hitches that have one of the eyes coming straight from the top and being clipped to the carabiner as being Knut-like. If the one eye of the Knut’s comes down on the same side that it exits from the top, I call it passive. The Knut H’s is mostly passive as it only crosses over to the other side of the carabiner.
And I didn’t know about the Catalan when I came up with the H, there would have to be 21 other, previous versions for it to be a V!
